Asked why he is so guarded about his personal life, here's what Sidharth told IANS in an email interview:"I am here for my work and my work speaks to my audience. At home, I am a private person and I like keeping it that way, may be that is why I come out as being guarded about my personal life."
The Ek Villain star, who has no Bollywood connection, started his career as an assistant director in Karan Johar's 2010 film My Name Is Khan. As an actor, the former model made his debut with the 2012 film Student Of The Year, which also starred Alia.
Coming from a non-Bollywood background, how difficult is it for an actor to survive in showbiz, where there is cut-throat competition everyday?"Since I started my career in Bollywood as an assistant director, I had the knowledge about how films are made and the kind of efforts that go into making one. The past four years in the industry have been spectacular," Sidharth said.Sidharth is now gearing up for his upcoming film Baar Baar Dekho directed by Nitya Mehra, which also stars actress Katrina Kaif.

Sultan becomes the most ‘liked’ trailer on Youtube

The trailer of Salman Khan’s Sultan has become the most ‘liked’ trailer on Youtube, surpassing the 179,000 plus total of Shah Rukh Khan’s FAN which released in theatres earlier this year.

FAN still tops the year in terms of view count (23 million plus), but with more than a week to go for the release of Sultan – the film could go on to be the most watched and most liked trailer of all time (Indian films only).

While high view and like count doesn’t really make a difference at the box office, it does indicate that the trailer has reached out to a lot of moviegoers.

Salman’s stardom ensures competition free release for Sultan

It’s a true sign of superstardom when the biggest of films from every language and industry, make way to give a ‘competition free’ release for Salman Khan’s Sultan.

In May this year, Shah Rukh Khan decided not to release his film during Eid – a date which was first occupied by his keenly-awaited film ‘Raees’.

Then it was Tamil superstar Rajnikanth’s turn. The makers of his upcoming film ‘Kabali’ were first targeting the Eid weekend, but later decided to release their film 10 days after Sultan.

Sources say, even Punjabi superstar Diljit Dosanjh decided to release his own film ‘Sardaarji 2’ a week after ‘Udta Punjab’ because it would give his film a good 2 week run before ‘Sultan’ hits screens during Eid.

Now, Reliance Entertainment too have decided not to risk their Hollywood biggie – Steven Spielberg’s THE BFG – a film that was earlier scheduled for Eid, will now release on July 15.

Sultan will be the only choice for movie goers for more than week, at almost every movie theatre across India and the film is getting the widest release ever too.

Starring Salman Khan and Anushka Sharma in the lead, Sultan releases in theatres on July 6 2016.

On the Loose: To Say The Least

The National Commission for Women has come down heavily on actor Salman Khan after he told reporters his filming schedule was so gruelling he felt like a “raped woman”. This one line overshadowed the rest of Salman’s remarks, which were equally stupefying. According to BBC, in the same interview, Khan said he was able to quit every vice — cigarettes, alcohol and coffee — except women.
Khan’s fans aren’t exactly expecting a treatise on wisdom when he speaks, which is why nothing he says really matters. There’s the very plausible explanation that decades spent jumping off trains and fighting the bad guys may have fried his brains a little. Far more likely, however, is that Khan has a meagre vocabulary and got his adjectives and nouns mixed up to come up with a wholly regrettable quote. Or perhaps his life choices have taught him to fear women; we all tend to view the world from the prism of our own experiences.
Superstardom is no guarantee of relationship success. From what one reads, Khan hangs out with a rarefied section of alpha women who enjoy unusual economic power and have, on occasion, dumped him. Reasons, no doubt, to give them up like coffee and smokes. It turns out, what’s most frightening to a patriarchal mindset is women with money.
Because these chosen few can afford to eye men in the way some men ogle women, for time-pass, and move on with no real consequences. Economics, not gender, decides the tilt in relationships, a staggering surprise for many others besides Khan, I’m sure.
There have been many calls to boycott Khan’s films in view of his misogynistic remarks. Movie critic Raja Sen has gone on record to say he won’t see Sultan.
Unlike the West, in India, we are merrily oblivious to political correctness. Mel Gibson’s movie career was finished after allegations of anti-Semitism and domestic abuse surfaced.
Fashion designer John Galliano was unceremoniously sacked from Dior for similar reasons. It’s a question of perspective whether a sexist comment by Khan is worse than allegations of tax impropriety by Amitabh Bachchan, published in the Panama Papers, which may have cost the national exchequer millions. But we are all multidimensional beings and need to be able to separate people’s personal lives from their creative and professional ones. Or we may find that we’ll have no books to read, movies to watch or music to listen to.
Composer Richard Wagner was a Nazi supporter, Woody Allen is accused of molestation and just last week Michael Jackson’s formidable collection of child porn was discovered. Does this diminish their significant body of work and its impact on the world entirely? The life of painter Paul Gauguin, beautifully captured in Somerset Maugham’s The Moon and Sixpence, is an ode to creative genius about a man possessed by art. His quest for artistic success leaves the lives of those closest to him in shreds. Maugham, himself, has been accused of cruelty and miserliness. Sure, they may not have been model citizens and were deeply flawed beings but the world would be poorer without their contributions. To quote Maugham, “The only important thing in a book is the meaning it has for you”. To apply it to Khan, he was never aiming for the Nobel. So set aside the judgements and go watch him for his huge entertainment quotient.

મુંબઇઃ શુક્રવારે(24 જૂન) ફિલ્મ 'ઢિશૂમ'નું પ્રમોશન કરવા માટે બોલિવૂડ સ્ટાર વરૂણ ધવન, જ્હોન અબ્રાહમ અને જેક્લીન ફર્નાન્ડીઝ નાગપુર પહોંચ્યા હતાં. અહીં ફેન્સ વચ્ચે તેમણે ખૂબ એન્જોય કર્યું હતું. 'ઢિશૂમ'ની ટીમે નાગપુરના ઝીરો માઇલસ્ટોનથી પ્રમોશન શરૂ કર્યું હતું. પોતાના પ્રમોશન દરમિયાન જ્હોને ફેન્સ પાસે પુશઅપ કરાવ્યા અને મસલ્સ બનાવવાના સિક્રેટ પણ જણાવ્યા હતાં.

- આ ફિલ્મ 29 જુલાઇએ રીલિઝ થઇ રહી છે. આ ફિલ્મથી ચાર વર્ષ બાદ એક્ટર અક્ષય ખન્ના પણ કમબેક કરી રહ્યો છે.

Review: Pulkit-Yami starrer Junooniyat is a tedious watch

The first half of the film is tolerable courtesy the exotic locations but the second half, with all its drama and sappiness, is just too much to handle, feels Namrata Thakker.

Junooniyat, directed by Vivek Agnihotri, is Pulkit Samrat and Yami Gautam's second outing together.

The duo was first seen in Divya Khosla Kumar's romantic drama Sanam Re, which released in February this year.

The latter failed to pack a punch at the box office; Junooniyat won't either.

Coming straight to the point, Junooniyat has nothing new to offer as far as the romantic genre is concerned.

Though Pulkit and Yami's chemistry got people talking about Sanam Re, their chemistry in Junooniyat is hardly sizzling.

Apart from the beautiful Himalayan locales and the shayaris that you get to hear every now and then, there is nothing really to boast about in the film.

Junooniyat is about two people who meet, fall in love and then decide to part ways for a reason. But this is a Bollywood film so a happy ending is inevitable, right?

Jahaan Bakshi (Pulkit) and Suhaani Kapoor's (Yami Gautam) love story begins after the former saves the latter's life. Jahaan is a good-looking army officer and Suhaani is a typical, chirpy Punjabi kudi.

The first half of the film is about these two characters falling in love, so it's all happy and lovey-dovey. The second half is exactly the opposite.

It's full of melodrama, rona-dhona, tragedy and sad songs. Why? Well, Jahaan and Suhaani go their separate ways as her family is against their relationship.

Yeah, yeah, one more done-to-death angle.

However, they soon realise they can't live without each. Aww! Now that would have been sweet back in the 1980s and 1990s. In 2016, it's just common sense.

Anyway, Jahaan and Suhaani want to get back together but they can't because there are too many misunderstandings between them.

Eventually, do these lovebirds have a happy ending? Well, you really don't need to scratch your heads to answer that question. Nor do you need to watch the movie to find out.

Story wise, as I said earlier, Junooniyat is no different than most Hindi romantic movies that claim be 'different' but just aren't.

Pulkit and Yami aren't bad actors but they need to stop working with each other for a while. And no romantic movies either, please!

The Vicky Donor actress looks pretty throughout the film but, when it comes to acting, she is just about okay. So is Pulkit.

The music isn't bad. Stereo Nation's popular number Nachange saari raat has been nicely treated by Meet Bros Anjjan and lyricist Kumaar.

Romantic number Mujhko barsaat bana lo is a good hear as well.

All in all, Junooniyat is just not worth your time and money.
